My co-worker keeps meowing at the office. Like, I’ll be sitting in my chair doing work, and my co-worker who’s 40 feet away audibly meows. She used to do it once a day, now it’s becoming more frequent. It’s distracting and other people have noticed.

What should I do?

A: You should confront your co-worker, in person and in as public a place as possible with the most people around.

For example, at around 10am or so, after everyone’s already arrived at the office and is sitting down to a productive day, walk over to her desk and ask her as loudly as you can, “Why do you meow every day? You used to do it once a day but now you do it as much as four times a day. It’s extremely distracting and I’m beginning to worry about your mental health and the mental health of every one who can hear you. Please stop.”

Talking about your problems is often the best solution. Your co-worker will later thank you for helping her come to grips with her problem.

So I have insomnia. And I’m out of milk.

It (I’m talking about the insomnia right now) happens quite frequently, and it might have something to do with the two coffees I had for dinner at Boston Pizza (thanks to Kate L. who felt required to buy me a drink for not calling me last weekend when the crew went out for dinner – incidentally, the power of words should not be underestimated. I posted about being shunned not out of anger or sadness – I was neither – but instead to be a jerk and as an attempt at fun. Kate, being the sensitive soul she is took my feign of anger as fact. It reminds me that my rampant sarcasm, and frequent use of such for the purpose of humour does not translate to the written word very easily. I have to curb that in general anyway, it gets me into trouble. I hate having to ‘drop matters’ between friends, having matters stinks ). She technically bought me two coffees, since I got a free refill of coffee.

Oh, while I’m here, I might as well introduce the crew:

Wilson C. and Kate L. are engaged. They’re also CGYG friends, but I don’t see many from that crew anymore because of scheduling.

Danny and Nelson C. Wilson, Danny and Nelson all work at the same place. Nelson has my copy of Paper Mario for the GCN, Danny just got a new job.

Me. If you don’t know me, I’m Greg B. Otherwise un-noteworthy.

Okay, so anyway.

The subject of my newest category is: “Greg’s atypical Solutions for Typical Problems”. And tonight’s episode is: Insomnia.

Now, most people suffer from insomnia at some point in their life. When you’re a caffeine addict (I’m not pointing fingers) it’s like a daily thing.

I don’t have a solution for insomnia, but say you’re worried that your rampant insomnia will cause you misery and frustration.

I do have the solution for that.

The trick is, blogging at 5am.

You can thank me later.
