What’s new with me? Not a lot…

October 8, 2009 5:04 pm

So I was so depressed because Erin temporarily called it quits on her blog. Well, I wasn’t really depressed because I know that all things have to come to an end.

But I’m so happy to say she’s back! Woohoo!

Since I last posted I’ve probably been to Toronto twice and Ottawa once. The trips to Toronto were good. The trip to Ottawa was for the younger niece’s birthday, which was pretty awesome.

Other’n that, not much is new, I’m enjoying work and Belleville’s pretty good too. Mikey might go home for Thanksgiving so maybe I’ll see him.

Great Gifts Go Ungraciously Disregarded

January 2, 2009 12:51 am

D’oh!

I completely forgot to thank The Chans for the fridge magnets (I only use magnets in their natural habitat, on fridges). The magnets are pawn-shaped and look amazingly sturdy. I could probably hang a button down shirt on each of them (got three). Though, I see no use to hanging shirts on fridges. Maybe if I’m going to be in a hurry the next day and can only have yogurt for breakfast.

Speaking of breakfast kids, it’s important. Otherwise you’ll be like Uncle Greggy and you’ll start eating garbage all day.

They also gave me ‘The Science of Superheroes’ which is a book that draws parallels between comic books and what’s possible in the real world. And a notepad for writing down all my brilliant thoughts. Much better than having my laptop turned on next to me every night. Well, I am posting this at 3am, after my bedtime so it’s obviously not the laptop’s fault (I know that last sentence wasn’t written well at all).

Great gifts, both! Thanks kids!

Oh yeah, next year I’ll be giving out hardcover copies of my first book to all my friends!

My presents!

December 30, 2008 10:55 am

I got a nice book, ‘The Bible Answer Book Volume 2′, some socks, some chocolate, two shaving kits and some clothes for Christmas.

And most importantly (and, depressingly) welcomed back with open arms by my parents. Why a soon-to-be 33y.o. man is willfully moving back in with his parents is something for the psychologists to solve. I just need time to think

Thought you should know.

Oh yeah, and a quick thought for those who got left behind in Bellevegas. Mikey, come visit often!

A final note before Christmas

Merry Christmas everyone!

B&S Y. when I was out for dinner with M&A H. on Tuesday night. And I’d just commented on how my random people spottings had declined somewhat of late.

Tuneless (No tune) Weekend

October 10, 2008 2:48 pm

This will be a tune-less (as opposed to tuneless, which is the usual) weekend as I’m going to be spending it with the family at the old Burns homestead.

It’ll be nice to hang out with my family, I don’t get to see the folks nearly enough, but it’s weird. I know that I’m not exactly the best traveler (I get cranky away from home and I don’t like being told what to do) or guest but it feels weird to go to my parents’ place and feel that way. Like it should be my home, but it isn’t. I’m just a guest at my parents’ place. It makes me a little sad.

It’s not that I don’t get along with people, I really do, but there’s always an underlying kind of struggle between me trying to be easy going and me just wanting to go out and do something else and be anti-social.

I also wish I could communicate like women seem to be able to do. Don’t read into that too much. I think women have more interesting things to say than men do in most cases.

Maybe it’s just me never having anything interesting to say, but insisting on saying it lots.

Anyway, Happy Thanksgiving Everyone!

Puppy Vu on the southbound train. I’d seen her once before, but this time she stood near me so I got her attention had a nice convo.

I went to Ryerson with Puppy’s big sister.

I hadn’t seen either in quite some time.

I forgot to mention that when I went to see The Mummy last night, I was the only person in the audience – seriously, I was the only person in there.

It was night, I got my pick of the seats (obviously) and didn’t have to worry abut someone taking my stuff when I went to the washroom.

The reason that was important is – I GOT YAKUZA 2 yesterday at WalMart! The reason I’m mentioning WalMart is because they’re selling the game for $30 CDN, as opposed to the $40 that everyone is trying to get for it. So for that I’ll give them a mention.

Verisign was kind enough to feed us for lunch, the burgers (professionally barbecued) were great, as were the noodle and green salads.

I didn’t get any time with Yakuza last night, hopefully I will sometime over the course of the weekend.

Have a great weekend everyone!
