Let’s look back to exactly a year ago today, shall we?
I got some hovers. I don’t really fully understand the service, but anything that’s new where I can get a nice, short URL is good.
Here are my hovers:
Burns
Canada
Finance
Friends
Greg
Lover
Mayim Bialik
Mixing
Mother
Music
News
New York
Sports
Toronto
Video
Check out what happens next:
(8/13/2009 11:27:56 PM) BigFatJerkFace: hey greg, I took news.hover.com back from you
(8/13/2009 11:28:06 PM) BigFatJerkFace: need it for a project
I won’t get into today’s chat with BigFatJerkFace (his real name) but suffice it to say, I’m enraged!
Almost enough to not love the guy so much. Oh, who am I kidding, you’re still tops, man.
Edit: Lest you get the wrong impression, gentle readers (Hi Kate and Erin!) I registered those Hovers while I worked at the old company, and didn’t have any claim to them anyway. Except mayimbialik.hover.com – that one is mine!
(10:34:02 PM) Greg: I wasn’t going to do anything with it anyway, but you’d better not touch mayimbialik.hover.com
(10:34:08 PM) BigFatJerkFace: nooooo
(10:34:12 PM) BigFatJerkFace: that was my next projecttttt

.cat
The .cat domain is not territorial, but applies to the whole Catalan-speaking community, whether or not a site is based in the Catalan Countries. In order to be granted a .cat domain, one needs to belong to the Catalan linguistic and cultural community on the Internet. A person, organization or company is considered to belong if they:[2]
* already have contents in Catalan published online.
* have access to a special code (sometimes called ENS), issued during special promotions or by agreements with certain institutions.
* develop activities (in any language) to promote the Catalan culture and language.
* are endorsed by 3 people or 1 institution already using a .cat domain name.
How they ever got that through is beyond me.

Hi,
Some of the domains I had listed were bought a long time ago, and I’d meant to delete as they came up for expiration, but some slipped through the cracks.
I tried to go through and delete them during the great purge, but I missed a few. When I did the click-drag, select-all import into my domain listing script they were included and I forgot all about them.

Here’s a list of the domains I have for sale that begin with numbers.
If you’re interested in any of them you can use the ‘enquire’ link above for the domain or just e-mail me at greg@gregattack.com
Note that some of the domains are also for sale on Afternic.

I just got a promotion, it’ll take effect in June, apparently but I’ll be an Associate Domainer here at Tucows, working on Bill Sweetman’s team.
Sweet, man.
Obviously this job is pretty awesome for me, because domaining has been my hobby for a long time.
Great stuff.

Just wow.
First off, saw The Bucket List with Kate Y. tonight, good flick, Nicholson and Freeman are awesome. Ran into Simon L. on the way home (he works near where I live) and – I did this a couple of times, referred to Morgan Freeman as Gordon Freeman. Haha.
Anyway, here’s the Wow portion of today’s story.
So, after yesterday’s decrying of post-Christmas/Boxing Day revenue declines…I had my best day ever today. Well, best day after, and it’s all due to one click.
I won’t talk about how much the click was, but I was floored. It was nearly enough to make my whole operation profitable for the day, alone
In other news, old, evil habits die hard.

It looks like the upswing I had in January domain revenues (like I said, I’d surpassed December’s total by Jan. 15th) was probably a result of two things:
- Leftover (increased) ad spending from the Christmas-Boxing Day sales period
- Fewer competitors paying for ads on the networks (click arbitrage).
I’m still convinced that 2008 will be my first good (if not profitable) year, but I’ve also decided I’m in it for the long haul.
I’ve added SweetMantra.com to my Blogroll, it’s Bill Sweetman’s blog. Bill’s another TCX guy.

As of today (January 14th, 2008) my Fabulous domain parking revenues are $.18 off last month’s (December, 2007) total.
Last month was disastrous, so I’m happy that things are picking up a bit for me.
Now all I need is for them to pick up about 100x and we’ll be in business (or, at least not out of business).
