Greg watches a movie: Star Trek

Sucked.

For one thing, Star Trek villains always stink. This guy’s motivation was stupid. Leonard Nimoy was in it, can’t figure out why.

Simon Pegg was awesome, but the rest of the movie sucked liked everything else Star Trek.

Ooooh, I can’t wait for the G.I. Joe movie to come out later this summer, that’s just going to be awesome, I bet.

I wasn’t impressed with it, but I thought it was ok. I agree, the villain stunk. And while I’m glad they made Leonard Nimoy an integral part of the plot since they felt the need to include him at all, I wasn’t big on the whole alternate timeline that they created. It just doesn’t sit well with me.

I actually think I found Simon Pegg out of place (I love Simon Pegg, I’m just not sure they incorporated him gracefully) . . . he was almost over-animated, and was introduced so late in the movie. And had his monster-alien friend. Ugh, I don’t know. I guess I have to see it again, just to confirm my opinion of it. I kind of don’t want to have to sit through it again, though. That can’t be a good sign.

Ok. So. I remember being entertained (for the most part) at the time, but the more I think about it in retrospect, the more dubious the quality of the movie seems.

But then, I like Star Trek, and you like Tango & Cash ^___^

(Also, I love how the previews for GI Joe and Transformers II look like they’re for exactly the same movie . . .)

PPS: actually I’m glad someone else in the universe didn’t like the Star Trek movie. I’ve been trying to be optimistic about it because everyone else I know absolutely loved it.

And I’m half-kidding about Tango & Cash. I’d probably choose to watch it again before I ever re-watched the new Star Trek. =p
