I can’t sing (but now maybe I can?)
January 22, 2009 7:58 pmI have the worst voice imaginable. My singing voice is kinda like a 15 year old boy’s who is just going through puberty. It cracks, it changes key/octave on its own (makes it sound like I actually have a range though) and it’s scratchy and terrible.
There’s not one good element to my voice. That’s why I don’t sing. I’m a limited guitarist too, but since it’s not my voice no one’s going to laugh at it as much.
If I started singing then everyone would make me cry by telling me how bad I am.
Enter this: Cubase 5’s Built-In Pitch Correction Plug-in
Now, my DAW doesn’t need an upgrade at all, and if I did upgrade it I’d probably get Guitar Rig 3 as opposed to upgrading to Cubase 5 but this actually does sound neat.
Wait, what am I saying? I’m the guy who records a whole tune’s lead part in the wrong key and doesn’t fix it because he likes one or two things about it. I don’t think I’d have the patience to fix a horrible vocal track a warble at a time.

That definitely looks drool-worthy. Pitch and timing correction with only a few clicks? @-@
XD
Oh, and a couple more things: a) you are an amazing guitar player! I’m going to record myself playing guitar so you can feel WAY better. And b) my voice cracks horribly, too. I try to pretend I’m not a contralto (haha, or a tenor) . . . but my upper range is zip! It’s ok for singing along with all the (male-singer) bands I like, but kind of sad if I want to sing female vocals! Har har har.
Anyway . . .

I can’t hit any pitch in any range
Thanks for complimenting my guitaring but that’s not how I feel about it. Not that it’ll make me stop
I have some talented friends though, I think what I’ll do is record their songs with them since I have all the fancy equipment then after they leave I’ll insert a guitar solo or a rap or a sensitive-male voice section into it.
Each song could have an ‘Erin Poetry section in it too…we should puts some harps in.
