Other people’s kids

I really admire at how much patience and love my sister and her hubby put into raising their kids.

Me? I doubt I have that much of either quality, maybe not enough to sire and raise my own. Kids are demanding, and what’s the reward?

Just sayin’.

I imagine that children would be difficult. I mean, first of all, they’re babies who keep you awake all night and make messes and so forth, then they’re — well, you might get a few years when they’re adorable before they get to be bratty/contrary teens. And then after it all, they leave you.

The whole thing must be fairly emotionally traumatic, and my admiration goes out to all the parents out there who manage to stay sane and raise their children well.
