On the subway into work today there was a woman who was holding her baby, with a stroller in front of her.

I assumed the stroller was for the baby and she was just holding her so the baby would relax. But when her stop came up, she got up holding the baby and pushing the stroller. In the stroller I saw an older child who was completely asleep.

Not wanting to wake the older child she tried pushing the stroller with the older child in it, all the while holding the younger in her arms. At that point a man who had just gotten on the train got up and helped her push the stroller onto the platform.

The guy returned to find his seat had just been taken by someone else and there wasn’t any room in the car for him to find another one.
